This picture is of two of the nestling Swainson's hawks that Black Jack fostered this summer. They were released in early September in time for them to migrate south to Argentina (a long flight south that is 10,000 km one way). This species, whose scientific name is, Buteo swainsoni, has the second longest migration of all birds.
